About Us
Troy Granmoe
I've spent my entire adult life in service. First as an Infantry Paratrooper in the U.S. Army, then for 27 years as a New York State Trooper. Along the way, I discovered a passion for teaching. Whether I was training soldiers on military weapon systems during my 22 years in the Army and Army Reserve, or certifying fellow officers at the State Police Academy, I found that helping others develop their skills was the most rewarding work I could do.
Now, through Adirondack Firearms, I bring that same dedication to serving civilians throughout the Adirondack region. My goal is simple: to help you become a safe, confident, and responsible firearm owner. Whether you're brand new to firearms or looking to take your skills to the next level.

All ServicesTraining Questions
-
Absolutely! Many of my students are complete beginners, and that's perfectly fine. I'll start with the fundamentals and make sure you're comfortable before we ever handle a firearm. There's no judgment here, everyone starts somewhere.
-
Just yourself and a willingness to learn! I provide all necessary equipment, including firearms for training, eye and ear protection, and ammunition. If you have your own firearm you'd like to train with, you're welcome to bring it. Wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes.

I specialize in personalized, one-on-one instruction because I believe it's the most effective way to learn. However, I'm happy to accommodate small groups (couples, family members, friends) who want to learn together. Just let me know your situation, and we'll work something out.
